Wicked: For Good; Similar to its source material, this 2nd act fails to enthral like the 1st, despite continued inspiring musical performances. The direction seems less interested in giving us spectacle & grandeur, opting for dark close ups & gloomy two shots. It feels like the magic fizzled out; B-

Drive-Away Dolls; Salaciously subversive & bitingly satirical in a way only a Coen could craft. Cameos are fun but its leading ladies’ spirited performances that add heart amongst hilarity. Comic buffoonery, surprise gaffs, all in a rapturous road movie buddy film that plays & smashes tropes; B+

Assassination Nation; A storytelling of Salem’s witch hunts for our modern age. Social commentary is reflected in a stylistically shot music video style in the vein of Natural Born Killers’ more silent moments. Loses some power in its sparse narrative form but is intriguing; C+
