The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare; Tells a fascinating true story of intense action derived from grim circumstances but fails to capture the momentous stakes by never quite presenting the key players as anything less than an invulnerable super squad. Entertaining but emotionally stunted; B
Crazy Rich Asians; A solid, funny rom-com with few surprises. Gorgeously shot and wonderfully acted, it's as though genre perfection was the intention, giving us typical story beats, albeit with a very non-typical cast. Does leave us wanting more; B+
