Ready or Not 2: Here I Come; The surprise and suspense of the first is lost in this attempt to up the ante w/more families of hunters. Sister character arc eliminates the original’s haunting aspect of the bride’s solitary state. Still, the actors are having a blast and it is slightly infectious; B-

Scream VI

Scream VI; Switches up the locale, the leads and some of the typical moments, yet still seems to offer more of the same. This is fine if it’s your fare, but it’s becoming a bit of a bore despite the very decent cast and welcome change of scenery. Serviceable slasher sequel; B-

Chevalier

Chevalier; Perhaps the best Prince film we will ever see, unearthing a musical genius fighting against racism, aristocracy, and tradition. The movie’s themes are startlingly (and disappointingly) relevant and the modern parallels are elevated by an inspired lead performance; A-
